In short: - Reflexy is a journal for self-reflection, not a medical device. It has no account: your journal stays on your device and in the backups you make. - The app is free to download. You choose when to start the 14-day free trial, and it never converts to a charge. Lifetime access is a separate one-time purchase with no subscription. - Apple sells in-app purchases and handles refunds. Your agreement is with us, not Apple. - You are responsible for your backups and your recovery code. Without them, nobody can open an encrypted backup, including us. - If something goes wrong, contact support@reflexy.app first; most issues are solved quickly. ## 1. Who we are and how to reach us Reflexy is developed and published by an independent developer ("we", "us"). Contact: support@reflexy.app or https://reflexy.app/contact. These Terms of Use ("Terms") cover the Reflexy app for iPhone and iPad and the website at reflexy.app. Our Privacy Policy (https://reflexy.app/privacy) is a separate document that explains how data is handled. ## 2. Your agreement is with us, not Apple These Terms are concluded between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Reflexy and its content. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple will have the right, and will be deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary. Reflexy is distributed through the App Store. Where these Terms conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/) for the App Store, Apple's terms prevail for your use of the App Store and for purchases made through it. ## 3. Accepting and changing these Terms You accept these Terms when you tap "Continue" at the end of the introduction in the app, when you download or use Reflexy, or when you use the website. Accepting the Terms is not consent to data processing; the Privacy Policy describes what is processed and on which legal basis. We may change these Terms, for example when Reflexy changes or the law changes. A changed version gets a new effective date and version number at the top of https://reflexy.app/terms, and the app links to the current version from Settings. Material changes are published before they take effect. If you keep using Reflexy after a change takes effect, the changed Terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Reflexy and delete the app; section 18 explains what happens to your journal. These Terms are the license agreement for Reflexy shown on the App Store. If Apple's standard End User License Agreement is shown instead, that standard agreement applies to the license itself and prevails where the two conflict. ## 4. Who may use Reflexy You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent's or guardian's permission. Reflexy is not directed to children under 13; see the Privacy Policy. ## 5. What Reflexy is, and what it is not Reflexy is a journal for self-reflection. You record moments as Stories, name feelings and their intensity, choose needs, and connect Aims and Activities. Insights summarize what you recorded across week, month, 6-month and year periods. Reflexy is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy or emergency assistance. Insights charts summarize your own entries: they do not analyze your writing, predict your mood, recognize feelings from text or photos, or give medical guidance. Reflexy does not use AI features. Nothing in the app replaces advice from a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or think you may harm yourself or others, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away. ## 6. No account Reflexy has no user accounts. Your journal lives on your device and in the backups you create. We cannot see it, reset it or recover it for you. There is no password to reset with us and no way for us to restore a journal you have lost. Keeping backups is up to you (see section 10). ## 7. Your license and acceptable use We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Reflexy on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that Reflexy may also be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple makes those available for Reflexy. You may not: - copy, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute Reflexy, or make it available to others outside the rules above; - reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Reflexy, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows this despite this restriction; - bypass, disable or tamper with the free trial, purchase checks or access verification; - use Reflexy to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights; - interfere with the website or the contact form, for example with bots, scraping, automated submissions or deliberate overload. ## 8. Your content Everything you put into Reflexy (text, photos, feelings, needs, aims, activities, tags and backups) is yours. It stays on your device and in the backups and exports you create. We do not receive it unless you send it to us yourself, for example in a support email. We do not claim any rights to it, and you do not grant us a license to it. You are responsible for having the right to use any photo you attach and for the content of your journal. ## 9. Purchases and access Reflexy is free to download. Without full access you can read and search your existing journal, review Insights, import and export backups, and delete data. Creating and editing journal content requires full access, which you get through the free trial, lifetime access, or verified access from an earlier version of Reflexy. In-app purchases are sold by Apple through the App Store under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; Apple issues receipts and applies any taxes. ### 9.1 The 14-day free trial You choose when to start the 14-day free trial by selecting "Try 14 days free". It is a free one-time in-app product from Apple. It never converts to a charge, and there is no subscription. It is available once per Apple Account; reinstalling the app, restoring purchases, erasing the journal or importing a backup does not start another trial. When the trial ends, creating and editing lock; reading, import, export and deletion stay available. ### 9.2 Lifetime access Lifetime access is a separate one-time in-app purchase. There is no subscription, nothing renews and there are no further charges. The App Store shows the current price for your country before you buy. "Lifetime" means for as long as we make Reflexy available on the App Store for a compatible iOS version; section 19 explains what happens if we stop. ### 9.3 Refunds and withdrawal Apple is the seller of in-app purchases, so refunds, including any statutory right of withdrawal, are handled by Apple under its terms. To request a refund, use https://reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the access it granted ends. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. ### 9.4 Restoring purchases If you reinstall Reflexy or move to a new device, use "Restore purchases & previous access" in the app. Restoring depends on Apple's purchase services and may need an internet connection and Apple Account authentication. Backups do not contain purchase credentials, so restoring a backup does not restore or grant access. ### 9.5 Users of earlier versions If you owned a production version of Reflexy before the current access model, you keep full access without buying again. This is verified through Apple's signed purchase history for your Apple Account, not through a backup file. Having a backup from an earlier version does not by itself grant access or a new trial. Purchases by minors and purchases within a Family Sharing group are governed by Apple's settings, such as Ask to Buy, and by Apple's Family Sharing rules. ## 10. Backups, recovery codes and your responsibility You are responsible for keeping backups of your journal and for keeping your recovery code safe. New `.reflexy` backups are encrypted by Reflexy. The recovery key normally follows through iCloud Keychain, and Reflexy gives you a recovery code. Without the matching key or recovery code, an encrypted backup cannot be opened: not by you, and not by us. We have no way to reset or recover it. Importing a backup replaces the current journal after you confirm; it does not merge two journals. Automatic iCloud backups create saved copies; they are not live synchronization, are off by default, and depend on the app having an opportunity to run and on iCloud being available. Destinations you choose in the iOS share sheet handle exported files under their own terms. ## 11. Third-party services and terms Reflexy uses services from Apple (the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, iCloud Keychain, Face ID and Touch ID, the Photos picker) and from RevenueCat, which verifies and restores purchases for us. The website uses Cloudflare for hosting, security, cookieless analytics and the contact form, Resend to deliver contact-form emails, and Zoho Mail for our support mailbox. You must comply with the third-party terms that apply when you use these services, including Apple's terms for the App Store and iCloud. ## 12. Support, maintenance and updates We, not Apple, are responsible for any maintenance and support of Reflexy. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Support is provided by email at support@reflexy.app and through https://reflexy.app/contact, without a guaranteed response time. Reflexy requires iOS 17 or later. We may release updates, and we may stop supporting older versions of Reflexy or older versions of iOS. ## 13. Intellectual property Reflexy, its name and logo, its design, its artwork and illustrations, and the built-in lists of feelings, needs, activities and categories belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. These Terms do not transfer any of that to you. Your own content (section 8) is excluded. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you. ## 14. Warranties and consumer rights Reflexy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that Reflexy will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. If Reflexy fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) you paid for Reflexy to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Reflexy, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited by law. ## 15. Product and intellectual-property claims We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Reflexy or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that Reflexy fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. We, not Apple, are also responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that Reflexy or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights. ## 16. Limitation of liability Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of data (backups are your responsibility under section 10), for lost profits, or for problems caused by third-party services such as the App Store, iCloud or a share destination. Our total liability to you for all claims relating to Reflexy or the website is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Reflexy in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars. ## 17. Your responsibility to us To the extent the consumer laws that apply to you allow, you will compensate us for losses and reasonable costs that result from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of Reflexy or the website, including third-party claims caused by that breach or use. ## 18. Ending the agreement You can end this agreement at any time by deleting Reflexy from your devices. We may end your license if you materially breach these Terms, for example by tampering with access checks or attacking the website. Ending the agreement does not take your journal away from you. Your local journal, your exports and your backups remain yours. Sections 8, 13 to 17, 21 and 22 continue to apply after the agreement ends. ## 19. Availability and changes to Reflexy We may change Reflexy over time, add or remove features, change how it works, or stop offering Reflexy altogether. We will try to announce major removals in the App Store release notes or on the website. If we stop offering Reflexy, the version already installed on your device is designed to keep working without any server of ours, and reading, export and deletion stay available for as long as your version of iOS runs it. Apple's services, such as purchases and iCloud, are outside our control. ## 20. Legal compliance and export You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also comply with the export and sanctions laws that apply to you when you use Reflexy. ## 21. Governing law and disputes These Terms do not name a governing law. Mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live applies, and these Terms never take those protections away. You can bring a claim before the courts of the country where you live. Before going to court, please contact support@reflexy.app; most issues can be solved quickly. These Terms contain no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver. ## 22. General These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and, for purchases, Apple's terms, are the entire agreement between you and us about Reflexy. If a part of these Terms turns out to be invalid, the rest keeps applying, and the invalid part is replaced by the closest valid meaning. If we do not enforce a part of these Terms right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer this agreement to someone else; we may transfer it to a successor who takes over Reflexy and will announce that on the website. If these Terms are translated, the English version governs in case of conflict. ## 23. Website terms The reflexy.app website is provided for information and for contacting us. Do not send spam or automated submissions through the contact form, scrape the site, frame it inside another site, or interfere with its operation or security. The website content, including text, images and screenshots, belongs to us except where noted. The App Store badge and Apple's product names are trademarks of Apple Inc., used according to Apple's guidelines. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices. The Privacy Policy explains what the website processes. ## 24. Contact and effective date Questions about these Terms: support@reflexy.app or https://reflexy.app/contact. Please do not include journal content in your message. These Terms are effective from 15 September 2026 (version 1.0). Earlier versions are listed in the change log on this page.
